Bringing Touchless Document Automation to the AppExchange for Conexiom

Context

Conexiom is a Vancouver-based document automation platform used by manufacturers and distributors to process sales orders and invoices with 100% data accuracy at the line level. Their technology uses over 1,400 proprietary machine learning algorithms to transform digital documents into touchless outcomes — no manual data entry, no re-keying, no errors.

The platform processes millions of documents annually, driving over $100B in transaction value for customers worldwide. Conexiom's roadmap called for a native Salesforce AppExchange integration, aligning with their vision to meet customers where they already work — and many of them work in Salesforce.

Challenge

Building an AppExchange app for document automation isn't a simple connector project. Conexiom needed to bring their core processing capabilities into Salesforce while maintaining the accuracy guarantees their customers depend on. The integration had to handle account and trading partner linking, sample PO configuration, production deployment for touchless order processing, volume monitoring, and exception handling — all within Salesforce's native experience.

Conexiom's engineering team was deeply experienced with their own platform but less familiar with the force.com ecosystem. They needed a partner who could help them understand the Salesforce landscape, navigate the ISV security review, and design an integration that felt native rather than bolted on. Getting this wrong would mean a slow, frustrating go-to-market that burned engineering cycles without gaining traction.

Approach

Aquiva partnered with Conexiom to architect and deliver their Salesforce AppExchange application across three areas: integration design, ISV packaging and security review, and go-to-market acceleration.

Integration design. We designed the Salesforce-side architecture to support Conexiom's document processing workflow — from Email-to-Case ingestion through automated processing, exception routing via Salesforce cases, and toggle controls that give admins visibility into processing status without leaving Salesforce.

ISV packaging and review. Conexiom's application needed to work across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud in multi-tenant enterprise environments. We handled the managed package architecture, security review preparation, and the platform nuances that catch teams who haven't shipped ISV products on Salesforce before.

Go-to-market acceleration. Speed mattered. Conexiom had a competitive window and needed to launch before the market shifted. We helped them avoid the pitfalls that typically add months to a first AppExchange launch — packaging mistakes, security review rejections, and deployment patterns that don't scale.

Outcome

Conexiom for Salesforce launched on the AppExchange, giving their customers native visibility into document automation directly within their CRM. Manufacturers and distributors who already rely on Conexiom for touchless order processing can now manage the entire workflow — monitoring, exceptions, configuration — without context-switching between platforms.

The integration supports both Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, handling the full document lifecycle from ingestion to touchless processing. Exception cases surface automatically in Salesforce, keeping operations teams in their primary workspace.
